About the VASL
The Vancouver Advertising Slo-Pitch League (VASL) has been serving up co-ed summer slo-pitch in Vancouver since at least the 1980s.
We play on some of the best diamonds in Vancouver (e.g. Douglas, Memorial, Montgomery, and Tisdall Parks).
The schedule consists of 20 regular season games plus a minimum of four post-season games during the August weekend playoffs. There are five divisions, based on skill set and competitiveness. All games are umpired by SPN (Slo-Pitch National) Umpires.
Schedule: Game times are mostly 6:30 PM Mon-Fri, there are a few optional Sunday morning doubleheaders for those interested. Teams play on different nights each week, but each team is allowed to designate one day of the week as their "conflict" night; your team won't be scheduled on your conflict night.
We keep league fees as low as possible - last year's fees (field rentals, umpires, softballs, playoffs, and insurance) came to $1,500 per team plus a $100 forfeit bond, which is refundable (or can be carried over) if your team doesn't have any last minute forfeits .
